Radical Exposure Tapping (RET)
Radical Exposure Tapping (RET) is an evidence-informed approach that helps people reduce the emotional intensity of difficult thoughts, feelings and memories. It can be particularly helpful for anxiety, fears, social worries, perfectionism, low self-esteem, stressful memories and patterns of overthinking.
Many people find themselves caught in cycles of avoidance, worry or emotional overwhelm. RET helps to gently interrupt these patterns by combining exposure-based techniques with nervous system regulation strategies, allowing the brain to process difficult experiences in a new way.
As distress decreases, clients often experience greater confidence, emotional resilience and a stronger sense of control over their thoughts and reactions. Situations that once felt overwhelming can become more manageable, creating space for growth, connection and wellbeing.
RET is always adapted to the individual and integrated within a safe, supportive counselling relationship. Sessions move at a pace that feels comfortable, with a focus on helping clients build lasting skills and confidence for navigating life’s challenges.
